This is the first VW that I ever wanted, the MK4 GTI VR6. There are very few V6 hatchbacks you can get in America – and this is probably the best one. (The Mazda MX3 being the second best). Anyone suggest a third? 112,000 miles is kind of a lot, but you know what, you could do a lot worse.
I don’t know why you don’t see more custom bodies for VW Beetles, but they did a nice job with this one – classic looks, simple to work on, and NO SMOG EVER!!
Some people might call it plain, and a lot of people might complain about the window regulators – but this is a a lot of car for under $7k. There hasn’t been a GTI in a while that couldn’t use a stiffer suspension, but this one is probably due anyway.
